Sanjiv Arora Sanjiv Arora is a Managing Director with Cargill Ventures, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His investment strategy is to identify unmet clinical needs - particularly around metabolic, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, spinal, and neurology disorders. At Cargill Ventures, Sanjiv focuses on lifesciences investments including medical devices, diagnostics and therapeutics that facilitate drug discovery and life science research.

Sanjiv has extensive experience in the medical device and healthcare industry. Prior to joining Cargill Ventures, he spent eight years as an equity analyst covering the medical technology industry for both UBS Warburg and RBC Capital Markets. He was recognized as an industry expert in the cardiovascular, orthopedic, neuro and blood processing markets and his research coverage spanned the range of large-cap, small-cap and private companies. He began his career in the medical device industry and spent ten years in a variety of roles ranging from product design engineering and product planning for Guidant Corporation; business development for St. Jude Medical; and corporate development/product management for Boston Scientific Corporation.

Sanjiv serves on the Board of Directors of NimbleGen Systems and Emphasys Medical, and oversees Cargill Venture's investment in Sirtris Pharmaceuticals (SIRT).

Sanjiv holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, a M.S in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University and an M.B.A from Duke University.
